Kathaleen married Donald W. Dean, in 1949. They lived many good memories in their 25 years together. He survives. Kathaleen lived in Hutchinson 53 years, until she met Wayne Waddle of Cottonwood, AZ. She and Wayne shared the families they brought together and a love of motorhome travel. Kathaleen and Wayne were married for 26 years before his passing.
She was raised a Christian, and was a member of Verde Baptist Church, Cottonwood, AZ. Kathaleen loved the Lord and shared a sweet relationship with Him. Some of her favorite activities were gardening, tole painting, and cooking delicious meals. What Kathaleen enjoyed most was her family and gathering with them.
She is survived by: sons, Rodney (Genny) Dean, Terry (Rayne) Dean; daughter, Rhonda Harvey; brother, Bill Steinmetz; sister, Haroldene Ivey; stepchildren, Kevin (Laura) Waddle, Kimberly (Steve) Penniman, Kristen Waddle, and Kirk (Carrie) Waddle; her precious grandkids, Daphne Smith, Jeremy (Beth) Dean, Jennifer (Trevor) Sandell, Daira Harvey, Roxanne (Ryan) Alexander, Rachelle Strawn, and Tracey Dean; five step grandkids; 27 great-grandkids; and one great-great-grandson.
Kathaleen was preceeded in death by: her parents, Harold and Pearl (Landis) Steinmetz and brother, Ed Steinmetz.
Kathaleen was a very strong woman, who lived through dementia in her latter years as a kind and loving person. She will be remembered in our lives, and forever in our hearts.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. June 3, 2022, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aviant Hospice or Cottonwood Village, both of Cottonwood, AZ, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
