Jean Irene Cochran was born on July 9, 1942, and passed from this life on May 9, 2022, at the age of 79 years old, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Jean was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elvin Ira Tiffany and Pearl Adele Green-Tiffany. After graduating from Orange High School in 1960, she married her sweetheart and Marine, Wendell P. Cochran, and they were wed on September 15, 1960, and she was proud to be called Mrs. W. P. Cochran. She soon joined Wendell at his assigned station in Hawaii. In January of 1962, she moves, with Wendell, to Edgewood, TX, where they started their family. Together they had four children, David Albert (deceased), Anita Lynn, Randy Lee, and Deborah Catherine.
From the time Jean had her first child, David, she dedicated her life to being a caring and wonderful mother and grandmother. Jean excelled at propping up Anita, Randy, and Deborah and supporting them through the many passisions and difficulties of their lives. When her grandchildren came along, she became the proudest Grandma of all. She loved making things for them and with them. Her granddaughters benefitted from the many ruffled dresses she made for them. Her love language was without a doubt the language of giving and she did with her whole heart. It was her way of letting you know she was thinking about you while you weren't around and wanted to find a way to make you smile.
Jean loved sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, gardening, and just crafting in general. If you wanted it made, she was determined to make your wishes come true. From wedding gifts to wedding dresses, from baby blankets to baby dedication gowns she designed it, altered it, or created it. She was generous in her love for people and that showed with each item she made. She also loved growing a variety of plants, and she was especially proud of her Birds of Paradise and Plumerias that reminded her of "home."
Jean was a long-standing member of Apostolic Temple in Pasadena, TX for 52 years. She was faithful to God and her church. She never shrugged away from a workday, whether it was helping make peanut brittle, decorating Sunday School rooms, or cleaning. Jean also loved babies and dedicated years to the nursery.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Pearl Tiffany of Orange, CA, her firstborn son, David Albert Cochran, and her son-in-law, Edward Lynn Wells of Daisetta, TX.
Jean is survived by her husband, Wendell Perry Cochran of Houston, TX; children Anita Lynn Wells of Daisetta, TX; Randy Lee Cochran and wife, Teresa of Houston, TX; Deborah Catherine Allen and husband, Jeff of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren: Marque A. Wallace and wife, Alex of Midland, TX; Justin K. Wallace and wife, Tess of San Antonio, TX; Zachary B. Wallace and wife, Jordan of Yarmouth Port, MA; Ethan L. Wells of Daisetta, TX; Alyssa L. Wells of Daisetta, TX; Michael L. Wells of Daisetta, TX; Sydney R. Cahill and husband, Chase of Terrell, TX; Hannah E. Thacker and husband, Cole of Lindale, TX; Logan R. Hollister of Twentynine Palms, CA; and 7 great-grandchildren, Connor Wallace, Audrey Wallace, Stiles Wallace, Savannah Wallace, Wendell Wallace, Emorie Cahill, and Nash Cahill.
