CARENCRO~Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Sidney John Domec, age 71, who passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his residence in Carencro.

The Rev. Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Stephanie James. The songs will be The Old Rugged Cross, Amazing Grace (French and English), Taste and See, and Just A Closer Walk With Thee.

Mr. Domec was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. He joked and picked on everyone he encountered. Mr. Domec enjoyed visiting his son, Scott, on his farm in Texas and relaxing under the shade trees while watching the cattle graze. He always had delicious Cajun dishes ready on the stove for his sons and grandchildren whenever they came to visit. He cherished his grandchildren. His face lit up when his "beautiful granddaughters," Hailey and Morgan, and his "boo boos," Gavin, Maverick, and Declan, came to visit.

Survivors include two sons, Scott Domec and his wife, Miranda, of Needville, Texas and Shane Domec; one former daughter-in-law, Angel Domec of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Hailey Domec, Gavin Domec, Morgan Domec, Maverick Domec, and Declan Domec; two brothers, Russell Domec and his wife, Kim, of Carencro and Patrick Domec and his wife, Donna of Lafayette; three sisters, Jeanette Maturin of Lafayette, Leatrice Hanks and her husband, Joseph, of Carencro and Audrey Chautin of Texas; and his longtime loving companion, Elaine "Half Pint" Woods of Carencro.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Domec and Sable Guidry Domec; mother of his children and former wife, Henrietta Legere Domec; one infant grandson, Lawson Domec; one brother, Dale Domec; one brother-in-law, Boston Chautin; and one niece, Paula Hanks.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
