Ruby G. Franklin, daughter of John and Setta Gouge Fudge, was born July 9, 1911, near Linn Creek, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, October 3, 2002, in Lake Regional Health Systems, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years, two months, and twenty-four days.
On April 14, 1929, she was united in marriage to Clarence "Swede" Franklin, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence, on April 23, 1999; a daughter, Imogene Franklin; a brother, James Fudge; and a sister, Ruth Fudge.
Ruby is survived by a son, J. C. Franklin, and his wife, Patti, of Linn Creek, Missouri; a grandson, Dr. Chris Franklin, of Camdenton, Missouri; three granddaughters, Deanna McArthur, of Chesterfield, Missouri, Dawn Jeffries, of Brumley, Missouri, Terri Heintz, of Springfield, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Jewell and Jim Franklin, both of Linn Creek, Missouri, and Dick Franklin, of Richland, Missouri; six sisters-in-law, Bessie Dickerson, of Kansas City, Kansas, Donna Howard, and Thelma Franklin, both of Buffalo, Missouri, Wadine Franklin, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Marjorie Franklin, of Oak Grove, Missouri, Elizabeth Franklin, of Kansas City, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Linn Creek community. After she and Clarence were married, they made their home in the Linn Creek area, and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Ruby was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family.
Ruby was a member of the Church of Christ and attended services at Freedom Church of Christ.
She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing special meals for her family and friends. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Services were held October 6, 2002 at 2:00p.m. in the Allee-Holman-Howe Chapel, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial followed in the Freedom Cemetery near Linn Creek, Missouri.
