ACRES, JOSEPH - 84, passed away Sunday, April 19, 1964 at the Scott County Hospital after an illness of 2 weeks. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a retired Foreman on the O & W. Railroad and a lifelong resident of Scott County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. SENA ACRES of Oneida; 4 Sons, PAUL of Titusville, Florida, ARZO of Oneida, AUDIE of Cincinnati, JAMES JOSEPH of Paoli, Indiana; 2 Daughters, Mrs. J. J. REED and Mrs. EUGENE DAUGHERTY of Oneida; Mrs. HOLLIS REED of Burrville, Tennessee; 1 Brother, A. V. ACRES of Louisville, Kentucky; 2 Sisters, Mrs. MAUDE CHITWOOD of Somerset, Kentucky, Mrs. MARY DANIELS of Somerset, Kentucky; 19 Grandchildren; 10 Great-grandchildren. Pall Bearers were TORRENCE REYNOLDS, BILL PHILLIPS, AUDNEY ACRES, NORMAN ACRES, RENFRO WEBB and CLIFTON SEXTON. Funeral services were conducted 2 P.M. Tuesday, April 21, 1964 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. LEWIS BRATHCER and Rev. ROY BLEVINS officiating. Interment followed in the Acres Cemetery. West in charge.
