Burgett Funeral Set For Today
Pilot Point -- Funeral for Mrs. Samantha Adeline Burgett, 85, longtime resident of Tioga, will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. today at the Tioga Methodist church.
Elder H. G. Ball and the Rev. R.L. Cates will officiated at the services. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Pilot Point with Beck Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be George McKinley, Fred Reynolds, John Reynolds, Luther Bell, Fred Millner and Earl Graves.
Mrs. Burgett, the last of 12 children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. William Graves, died Thursday at the home of her daughter in San Diego, Calif. after an illness of one month.
The body was flown from San Diego to Love Field, Dallas, and brought to Pilot Point by Beck Funeral Home.
Born October 29, 1866, in Parker County, she married Thomas Burgett who died in 1897. She came to Tioga at an early age and lived there until three years ago when she moved to San Diego to live with her daughter, Mrs. Frances B. Thomas.
In addition to Mrs. Thomas, the deceased is survived by son, L. E. Burgett, Winslow, Arizona. 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
