Michael A. Jones, Cornudas Ranch, southern Otero County, New Mexico, passed away Thursday in El Paso. A member of a pioneer ranching family of the Dell City area. He graduated from Dell City High School and attended Sul Ross State University. Since, he has been engaged in ranching on the family-owned Cornudas Ranch.
Survivors include his wife Diana; son Michael; parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. "Bob" Jones of Dell City; brother Robert E. "Bobby" Jones; and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Alton Jones of the Cornudas Ranch, and Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Patee of Alamogordo NM.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church in Dell City, with Rev. Bill Dodd and Rev. L.E. "Chief" Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cornudas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Richardson, Jerry Nichols, John Snow, Jim Ballentine, Randy Barker, and Jimmy Foster. Honorary pall bearers will be Les Foster, Larry Smith, Wilson Bennett, "Pop" Snow, Nathan Oglesby, Bill Jones, Brian Snodgrass, and Charlie T. Lee. Hamilton Funeral Home in Alamogordo is in charge of arrangements.
