Kingsport - Pat Perdieu Sharrett, 78, of Kingsport, passed away recently on Thursday (May 8, 2018) following a brief illness. She was born in Grundy, VA and attended Radford College.
She moved to Kingsport in 1957 and following her marriage, moved to Colorado in 1962. She moved back to Kingsport in 1964. She briefly taught school at Miller Perry Elementry School. Pat loved to work in her flower garden who also read mystery novels. She was a member of Kendrick's Creek United Methodist Church where she was the former youth leader.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew Greg Hamrick.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Jerry Dennis Sharrett; daughter, Toni "Wendy" Joyce & husband John; two grandchildren, Keven Joyce and Christine Joyce; sister, Kay Francis Hamrick; niece, Kim Hamrick Nall; dear friends, Mark Ward and Patsy Herron.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 25 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport.
A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Michael Sampson officiating. Friends may also call anytime at the residence.
A private graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Bridge No Kill Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 654, Blountville, TN 37617.
