BLOOD, LAURENCE ROYDEN, 94 - of Bookline Manor, Mifflintown, PA, died at 10:48 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the Manor. He lived most of his life in Atlantic City, ad moved to Mifflintown, PA in 1989.

Born October 2, 1909 in Cardiff, he was the son of the late Royden Eicher and Emma Salome (Highley) Blood. His wife, Mary Virginia (Wickman) Blood, whom he married in 1933, died on March 20, 1996.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth M. (Beverly Jane) Barrett, Chambersbug, PA; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

He was preceded in death by one son, William Laurence Blood and one brother, George Blood.

He was employed for over 40 years as a supervisor with the NJ Bell Telephone Co. Following his retirement in 1968, he worked as a computer operator with Federal Aviation Administration (NAFEC) for five years.

He was a lifetime member of the Pioneers Workers of America. His hobbies included weightlifting and golf and he was active with the Boy Scouts for many years. He was Methodist by faith.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third Street, Mifflintown, PA with Chaplain Cathy Janke officiating. There will be a viewing prior to the service.

A graveside service and interment will be in the St. Paul's United Methodist Cemetery, Port Republic, on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
