The Star-Mirror, Moscow, Idaho, March 7, 1912: "George Francis Allen, aged 27 years, . . . months and 10 days, died at the home of his mother, Mrs. George White, last . . . of a complication of troubles brought about by a general breakdown.

"The deceased was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Allen, at Valley City, North Dakota, October 11, 1884, and when a young boy removed with his parents to this city where he grew to manhood . . . his father until the time of his . . . being a partner in the jewelry business with Frank Kelly. He is . . . by his mother, Mrs. White, . . . Ed Allen, and well known . . . man, and three sisters, Mrs. . . . Deffenbaugh, and Mrs. Matt . . . of Spokane, and Mrs. . . . Moriarity of Wallace. The funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock . . . morning at Holy Trinity Catholic church, Rev. Father Pecoul, officiating." [Article was hard to read.}

The Star-Mirror, Moscow, Idaho, March 14, 1912: "The remains of George Francis Allen were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery [Friday, March 8]. The services were held at 10 o'clock [that] morning in the Catholic church. Rev. Father Pecoul officiating. The pall bearers were: John Shannan, John and Will Humphrey, Will Bobbins, Jr, and John and Joe Devine. Many beautiful floral offerings from friends covered the casket."

The Idaho Post, Moscow, Idaho, March 8, 1912: "George F. Allen, aged twenty-seven years four months and twenty-five days, died Wednesday night at the home of his mother, Mrs. James White in this city. Mr. Allen came down from Burke recently, suffering from the effects of tuberculosis, which disease caused his death. Deceased was a brother of Eddie Allen, who is well remembered here."
