James David Simmons, 65, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away surrounded by his family on May 7, 2022.

James, known by most as David, was born on January 1, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated high school in 1975 from Diamond Hill Jarvis High School in Fort Worth, Texas. David had many close friends and was always making more. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. David worked in the apartment maintenance field off and on his entire working life. He went on to obtain his associates degree in 1998 where he used this degree to work for Oldcastle Precast Amcor for 12 years.

David also called Denver, CO his home from 1998-2019. He loved Denver and everything it had to offer from camping, site seeing, fishing, sking and enjoying the wildlife. Some of our fondest memories are fishing and BBQ's with all the family. David always had a funny story to tell and always shared memories of his loved ones.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin T Simmons and Joann Peterson Simmons. He is survived by his children: Thomas Simmons, Melissa Simmons, James Austin Simmons, Cari Conwell ,his step son, Darrin Clay Ruby , his brothers: Tom Simmons and John Michael Simmons, his soul mate: Janie Hahn Simmons, his grandchildren: Isaiah Simmons, Careb Simmons and Kylie Simmons, as well as a niece, a nephew and many cousins and other extended family.

David will be laid to rest at a later date next to his mother and father at Mt Olivet Cemetary. The ceremony will be private and family only. In leu of flowers or gifts the family asks that you make a donation to Ashes to Glory Foundation @ ashestogloryfoundation.org/do… to help people who suffer from addiction get the necessary treatment needed to live healthy lives.
