HENNY, Clarence R. Sr.
b: Jan 16 1891, Henry Co, MO
d: Apr 2 1938, S of Urich, Henry Co, MO
bur: Mullin Cemetery, White Oak Twp, Henry Co, MO
arr: Wilkinson Funeral Home, Clinton, MO (Historical)
Clinton MO - Death released the spirit of Clarence Henny from earthly bondage and suffering about 10:15 p.m. April 2, 1938, at their home 4 1/2 miles south of Urich. He had been critically ill about three weeks, during which time his devoted wife and children gave him every care, assisted by other relatives and friends and the last few days, by a nurse, Mrs. C. Knuckles, of Urich. He was for some time in a Kansas City hospital. He was born January 16, 1891, in west Henry County, where his parents, the late Rudolph and Elizabeth (Goodman) Henny, came as early settlers of White Oak township, and became prominent in farming and livestock raising. The children have lived in the same neighborhood, carrying on their father's life work, equally as foremost in social and church life, and as industrious as the parents. Mr. Henny was united in marriage to Miss Helen E. Doll, also of pioneer ancestry, and of this union two children survive with their mother, Clarence, Jr., of the home and Mrs. Alice Nadine Woirhaye of the community. He is also survived by brothers, Elmer and Harley, of Lucas, where deceased had lived. He was an industrious farmer, foremost in the support of the Lucas church, in which faith he was reared and attended most of this life, going the past few years to Urich Baptist. He was a devoted husband and father, cherishing his loved ones and his home. They had lived in the present home but a few months, moving there from where he and his wife established a home, north of Lucas. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Urich Baptist church by Rev. C. E. Clemmons of Paola, Kans. former pastor. Burial at Mullins cemetery, under direction of Wilkinson Funeral Service.
