Ethel Irene Mobley departed this life January 4, 2008 in the Hartville Care Center, Hartville, Missouri at the age of 85 years and 23 days.

She was born December 11, 1922, daughter of Willis Isom and Bertha Lutisha Luellen Copeland, in Garland, Texas.

On February 18, 1941, Ethel was united in marriage to D.N. Mobley and to this union eight children were born.

Ethel was born in Texas and spent most of her early years in the Seymour and Garland areas. After she and D.N. were married, they lived in California, Utah, Arizona and Southwest Texas. In 1965, they moved to Wright County, Missouri where they owned and operated a dairy farm.
Ethel was of the Baptist faith and in her younger years had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour, Texas.

She centered her life on her family and took great pride in raising her children and maintaining the farm with her husband.

Ethel was a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor, and in her spare time, enjoyed singing, writing poetry, making various crafts, going bowling with her friends and playing bingo.

Ethel was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband D.N. (February 22, 1985); son, Charles Newton Mobley; a grandson, Russell Dale Nobles; a granddaughter, Tammy Kay Mobley; brothers, Willis Charles Copeland, Lewis Franklin Copeland, Ardean Walter Copeland and Daniel Floyd Lyman Copeland; sisters, Stella Lucille McComb, Ola Mae Nichols and Francis Pauline Martin; sons-in-law, Orval Prater and William H. Jackson.
