Alger O. Arness, 89, passed away on April 30, 2022. He was born on October 23, 1932 to Nettie and Alger Arness Sr. in Minot N.D. Alger was raised in Plaza N.D. and graduated from Plaza High School in 1950.

Later that year he married Lois Petersen, they moved to Tioga, N.D. where Alger began his career as Gas Plant Operator for Signal Oil and Gas. They raised three children, Michael, Carolyn and Don while living in Tioga.
In 1974, the family moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma. They remained in Oklahoma until Alger retired in 1983.

Lois and Alger enjoyed their retirement years as "snow birds" traveling between Arizona and North Dakota for 15 years before finally settling in Sun City, AZ. Anyone who knew Alger knew that was the most loving husband and father a family could ask for. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf.

Alger was predeceased by his daughter, Carolyn, and is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lois and two sons, Michael and Don. The family requests that all flowers and notes be sent to American Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ. There will be a memorial service May 11 at 11:00 a.m. at American Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ.
