Eleanor Ann Mattingly was the daughter of Zachariah 'Zachary' Mattingly and 3rd wife, Judith McMurphy. Eleanor had two siblings: JUDITH ABIGAIL MATTINGLY (my 2nd great grandmother, who married William Sheldon in 1861 in Hardin County, Illinois), and MARY ANN 'POLLY' MATTINGLY.

On 3 Apr 1855 in Elizabethtown, Hardin, Illinois, Eleanor Ann Mattingly married Sylvester Turner. They were the parents of three children, all born in Hardin County, Illinois:
GEORGE WASHINGTON TURNER, 1855-1938. He married Mary Jane Killman 29 Aug 1875. They had nine children.
MARTHA CAROLINE 'Mattie' TURNER, 1857-1926. She married Samuel 'Sam' Parkinson. They had five children.
DAVID HENRY 'Dave' TURNER, 1860-1938. He married Mollie R. Hoke 8 Jan 1887. They had four children.

For six years after Sylvester's death, Eleanor remained a single parent and cared for her three children with modest help from a Civil War Widow's Pension.

On 7 Dec 1870 in Elizabethtown, Hardin, Illinois, Eleanor Ann Mattingly Turner married Dr. William Harrison 'Doc' Wallace. Over the next 10 years, they had seven children.
Eleanor, Doc Wallace and their children are counted together in the 1880 and 1900 Census. Eleanor died in 1904 in Harrisburg, Saline, Illinois; Doc died 1913, also in Harrisburg. As of 10 May 2022, burial records for them cannot be located.
