Mrs. Millie Hessen, 76, died suddenly in her home Friday morning after she had prepared breakfast for herself, her granddaughter, and her son, Ora, who lives with her. The son had gone to work when she complained of feeling badly and laid down. The granddadughter summoned the son but before he arrived she was dead. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon with interment in Mansfield cemetery.
Mrs. Hessen, nee Lady, was born Oct 14, 1854 at Deerfield IN. She has lived here 42 years. Her husband died a year ago and she leaves one daughter, Mrs. W. C. Maxwell, Mahomet; one son, Ora at home; seven grandchildren; two gr-grandchildren; one brother, George Lady of Fisher; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Hayes of East Lynn. She married William H. Hessen Sep 25, 1877 (1853-1930).
