Services for Sealin Carney Marris, 64, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Chapel. Interment will follow at McAlister Cemetery.
Mrs. Marris was born June 24, 1935, at Bethel, to Jacob and Edna Jefferson Carterby. She died March 15, 2000, in the local hospital.
She moved to Ardmore in 1969 from Los Angeles and was a member of Chi-Ka-Sha Baptist Church. She participated in the foster grandparent program and worked with Headstart of the Chickasaw Nation. She was preceded in death by a brother, Julius Carterby; and sisters, Sue Tom and Minnie Dwight.
Survivors include a son, Daniel Carney, Ardmore; three daughters, Debbie Carney, Russell, Kan., Debbie Carney and Donna Taylor, Ardmore; two sisters, her twin, Cealin Carterby, Ardmore, and Myrtle Strait, Whittier, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
