Obituary for Ruth Marilyn Sturgis
Cape Coral, FL – Ruth Marilyn (Perkins) Sturgis, 82, of Cape Coral, FL and a former longtime resident of Seabrook, passed away at her condo in Cape Coral on Thursday, April 28, 2022 while in the care of her beloved daughter Miliki.

Ruth was born in Newburyport, MA on July 26, 1939, the daughter of the late Lawrence B. "Choc" Perkins and Eleanor Pearl (Souther) Perkins Randazzo. She was raised in Seabrook and proud to be a "Brookah" and graduated from Amesbury High School in 1957. She met and married the love of life, the late Paul Gaynor Sturgis in 1957 and the young couple remained in Seabrook to raise their family together. Ruth attended the Fazio Institute of Beauty Culture in Lawrence, MA and upon graduation, opened her own business, the Village Beauty Shop in Seabrook.

When Paul retired in 1998, she and her husband moved to Cape Coral where they made many, many friends. Ruth and Paul shared over 45 years of beautiful marriage until his passing in 2003.

In addition to her daughter, Miliki "Lick" Gaynor Sturgis of Salisbury Beach, MA, Ruth leaves her son, Paul Gaynor Sturgis Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Mechanic Falls, ME, and her grandchildren, twins; Rocco Thurlow and his wife, Stacy, and Ryan Thurlow, Cody Sturgis Sr. and his wife, Shannon as well as her great grandchildren, Ryder Thurlow, Eva, Siena, Avery and Cody Jr.

She was predeceased by her grandsons, Lloyd T. Chapin Jr. and Guy E. Sturgis, her brother, Lawrence "Koko" Bagley Perkins, her granddaughter-in-law, Ariel Thurlow and her stepfather, "Randy" Randazzo.

Friends may visit from 11:30 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will follow the visitation starting at 1 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wildwood Cemetery in Seabrook beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Miliki to assist her in settling Ruthie's many expenses.
