Joe E. Kahl, 68, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, at The Toledo Hospital. He was born in Toledo March 2, 1954, to parents Edward and Elizabeth (Melka) Kahl, and they preceded him in death. Joe was a long and active member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Sylvania where he served on the Church Council and was manager of the Property Committee. Joe loved sports, he was a huge fan of the New York Yankees, and after retiring enjoyed ushering at Mud Hen's and Walleye games.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of more than 42 years, Susan (Wetterauer) Kahl; daughter Mindy (Brett) Balhoff; sons Kevin (Jennifer) and Chad (Justine) Kahl; grandchildren Anna and Matthew Balhoff, Madelaine, Luke, Nathan Kahl, Edison, and Archer Kahl; and K-9 companions Tasha and Morrie.

His life will be celebrated at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 7800 Erie St. Sylvania, Saturday, May 21st from 9:00 AM until the Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Elizabeth Ferne Johnson begins at 11:00 AM.

Those wishing to offer memorials, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider the St. Stephen Lutheran Church or the Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
