Nancy Chapman McCown, 86, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was born on October 16, 1935 in Bay City, Texas to the late Edward H. Chapman, Jr. and Inez Sirmon Chapman.

Not only was Nancy a loving, caring, mother and grandma, she was a retired RN who worked in several hospitals in the Houston area for a number of years until she ended her career working for Houston Sports Association. For over 25 years, she was the nurse of the Astrodome, caring for employees and countless fans attending baseball games, football games, and rodeos. Her hands were rarely still after retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, working in her yard, and becoming a member of several quilting bees that made quilts for numerous charities. She also loved making quilts for her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Odus Gene McCown, Jr.; brother, Everette Chapman; and sister, Joan Gill. Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Millan; grandsons, Ryan and Michael Millan; sister, Linda Williams as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Graveside services for Ms. McCown will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas.
