Carolyn (Mitchell) Cox was born on January 27, 1940 in Ardmore, OK and let this earth for her heavenly home on May 1, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was the middle child born to Olan and Ione Mitchell and grew up in Wilson, OK graduating from Wilson High School in the class of 1958. As a child, she grew up in the United Methodist Church of Wilson and always considered that church "home". In 1959 she married her high school sweetheart, Lonnie Cox and they began their life together in Ardmore. Later their family grew with the addition of daughters Catherine Ann and Cynthia Ann.

Carolyn was a stay at home mom during the girls grade school years but when they were older she was a dedicated employee at a few businesses in Ardmore before spending many years with Dr. Brown and Dr. Chapman of Radiology Services before retiring.

Carolyn was proud to be known as Mrs. Lonnie Cox and Mom, but nothing brought more joy to her heart than being "Mammy" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was present at many baseball and softball games, football games, cheerleading performances, dance recitals, and of course many, many birthday parties. Always with a huge smile and bragging how her grands and great grands were the best! There are no words to express what a huge hole has been left in our hearts.

Carolyn was proceeded in death by her parents, infant sister Etta Jo, husband Lonnie, brother Bill Mitchell, nephew James Olan Thorne, niece Michelle Isbell and grandson Matthew Alexander.
