Jon Pat Barnard, 83, of Marshall, Mo., died Friday, April 29, 2022, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Born Oct. 5, 1938, in Pocatello, Idaho, he was the son of the late H. Pat Barnard and Gileel Coffman Barnard. Jon lived in Saline County most of his life and was a 1958 graduate of Marshall High School. On March 7, 1988, he married Leslie Ann Balls, who preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 1991. Jon served in the United States Army and United States Navy for a combined total of seven years, and then in the Air National Guard for six years.
Survivors include a daughter; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as cousins from the Coffman family.
Memorial graveside services with full military rites were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.
