Luther Eugene Wright, age 89, of Eddyville, passed away April 29, 2022 at his home.
Eugene was born July 3, 1932 to the late Luther and Georgia Morgan Wright. He was a Machinist at Hanson Manufacturing and was a United States Air Force Veteran. Eugene loved living on the lake, especially boating and fishing. He was an avid car enthusiast and was a member of Lakeview Boat Club, American Legion Post 25 and Chestnut Oak United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalee McQueen-Wright of Eddyville; one son, James Michael Wright of Patoka, IN; two daughters, Karen (Andy) Riffe of Stratford, TX, Pam (Mike) Terrell of Franklin, TN; two step-sons, Keith (Robin) McQueen of Tyrone, GA, Matt (Neile) McQueen of Franklin, IN; one sister, Peggy (Nathan) Griffith of Winslow, IN; 13 grandchildren, Austin (Jason Montgomery) Riffe, Tanner Riffe, Shawn Wright, Emily, Katie and Hannah Terrell, Chasity (Damian) Sonye, Taran (Eric) Lopes, Kasey (Kenny) Smith, Paige (Damon) Ball, Samantha (Evan) Henry, Chase McQueen, Caroline McQueen; 7 great-grandchildren, Colton and Wyatt Sonye, Violet, Brady and Ollie Lopes, Stella and Scottie Ball; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Hertha "Susie" Wright; three sisters, Mary Compton, Dollie Holcomb, Bessie Gentry; four brothers, Lawrence, Morris, Dorris and Donnie Wright.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Lakeland Funeral Home and from 9:00 am until 10:00 am Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Lakeland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Lakeland Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton, IN at 3:00 pm.
