Carol Norma-Jean Spaulding-Stevens-Chase, 88, of Henry passed away Thursday April 28, 2022, 5:55 pm at Lacon Rehab & Nursing, Lacon. She has finished her earthly journey and received her angel wings.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday June 25, 2022, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the First Christian Church, Henry. Memorial Services will follow at 11:00 am.
The Reverend Dr. Beth Rupe will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Elmwood Cemetery in Rantoul, IL. for the immediate family. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to First Christian Church, Henry. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry is assisting the family with arrangements.
Carol was born March 23, 1934, in Urbana, IL to the late James Kelso and Karalena Anna Mathilda (Doehring) Spaulding. She was raised in Sadorus and Rantoul, IL.
She was welcomed into heaven by her two brothers: Roy E. Spaulding, Larry Spaulding and one sister: Sharon Riggs, three daughters: Susan Irene Bowen, Billie Jo Chase and Cynthia Chase and a son; John Chase. Also preceding her in death were her two spouses: Harry C. Stevens and Gilbert W. Chase.
She leaves many to remember her here on earth. A son; Elbert Guy Chase, of Urbana, four daughters: Deb (Ray) Stange, of Henry, Jean Hagemeier, of Rantoul, Sandy (Tim) Mathews, of Gulf Shores, AL., and Wanda Moore, of Filley, NEB, and a son-in-law: Bruce Bowen, of Urbana.
She also leaves one brother, Rudy (Jan) Spaulding, of Fisher, and three sisters; Karen (Ray) Cook, of Fisher, Pam (Russ) Mathews, of Theodosia, MO., and Sheila (Jim) Semencez, of Rutherford, NJ. Carol has fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, Many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She enjoyed many years of being a foster-grandmother at the Henry Senachwine Grade School. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Henry.
