SOUTH BEND - David J. Blessing, 59, passed away Tuesday in his home and is now at peace after an extended illness. David is survived by his wife, Lynn; daughter, Nina M. Blessing of Elkhart; son, Matt D. Blessing of South Bend; sisters, Susan Sykora of Arizona and Noreen Max of New Jersey. A memorial service for David will be held TODAY at 6 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Friends may visit with his family one hour prior to the start of services.

SOUTH BEND - David J. Blessing, 59, of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, July 15th, at home, and is now at peace after an extended illness. He was born on February 10, 1949, in Schenectady, New York, to the late S. David and Dorothy (Genre) Blessing. On July 25, 1981, in South Bend, he married the former Lynn M. Jeziorski. David was a meticulous craftsman who loved to spend hours in his woodshop. He was truly a master of all trades. He had worked as a skilled craftsman for Peacock Construction prior to owning and operating his own business. David is survived by his loving family members: his wife of almost 27 years, Lynn; his daughter, Nina M. Blessing of Elkhart; his son, Matt D. Blessing of South Bend; two sisters, Susan Sykora of Arizona and Noreen Max of New Jersey; his aunt, Rose Blessing; an uncle, John Genre; his nephew, Kyler Max; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; his brother in spirit, Raymond Jeziorski of South Bend; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Raymond and Pat Jeziorski of Edwardsburg, MI; six sisters-in-law, Connie Lemasters of Elkhart, Denise Chamness of Granger, Pam (Bruce) Balestri of Portage, MI, Donna (Eddie) Rodino of Elkhart, Vicky (Dan) Johns of Studio City, CA, and Marlene Orszulak of Azle, TX. David's family would also like to acknowledge Raymond and Denise with a special thanks for their love and support. A memorial service for David will be held Friday, July 18th, at 6 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Friends may visit with his family one hour prior to the start of services. David's family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Center For Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
