Judith Ann "Judy" Shankle, age 79 of Paris, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Judy was born May 23, 1942, in the Jones Mill community of Henry County, TN, to the late James Edd Crowder and the late Mary Ann Hastings Crowder.

She graduated from Puryear High School in 1960. Judy spent many years working at several places all throughout Paris & Henry County, but her most passionate job was being a homemaker and caring for her three daughters. Judy enjoyed the simple things of life – nature, camping, traveling, sunsets, trees, birds, and her garden. She also enjoyed cooking and playing cards. She loved her children and grandchildren more than herself and would do anything she could for them. Judy also loved the people in her life – her family and friends, the trips they went on, times spent playing games, talking, and sharing stories with each other. She truly loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church to worship with her church family. Judy took pride in helping and caring for others in need. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Paris.

She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Leach of Paris, Cynthia "Cyndi" DeShields of Paducah, KY, and Traci (David) Adauto of Paris; six sisters, Iva Evans of Paris, Tena Paschall of FL, Wilma Key of Paris, Donna (Terry) Farris of Paris, Jeanette Dodd of Paris, and Alecia Galindo of Paris; one brother, Sam (Peggy) Crowder of Paris; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Leach, Austin Leach, Heather Hardin, Brandon DeShields, Cody Coleman, Lucas (Meagan) Coleman, and Brooklyn Coleman; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brandy Nicole Oliver.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
