Mrs. John Arbogast Dead
The news of the death of their mother, which occurred some time Saturday night was a terrible shock to the Arbogast family. She retired about nine o'clock feeling as well as usual and in the morning she was found dead in her bed. She was troubled with a weak heart for some time but there was no indication of anything unusual in her condition Saturday, so that her death was a great surprise to her family and friends. Funeral services will be held in the Congregational church today and the remains taken to Estherville for burial beside that of her husband. She was 71 years of age. - Emmetsburg Tribune (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 13, 1907)

Mrs. Elizabeth Arbogast Dead
Mrs. Elizabeth Arbogast, who made her home with her son, Fred Arbogast, of Freedom township, was found dead in bed Sunday morning. She retired Saturday evening apparently in the best of health. Sunday morning she did not get up as usual. The members of the family thought she was sleeping. Later they went to her room and found her dead. She had evidently passed away during the night. She had been in South Dakota visiting and came home a few days before she died.

The funeral will be held today. Services will be conducted at the Congregational church at 1:30. The remains will be brought to Estherville on the afternoon train for burial. The deceased is, we understand, survived by ten or twelve grown sons and daughters, several of whom reside in this vicinity. Among them are Chris, John, Lewis, and Fred, well known to our readers.

Mrs. Arbogast was born in Switzerland in October, 1833. Hence she was 74 years of age. She let an exemplary life and lived to a ripe old age. The survivors have the sympathy of all in their sorrow. (The Democrat, Emmetsburg, IA, November 13, 1907)
