Rodney E. Atkinson, 57, Lompoc, Calif., a former Hutchinson resident, died Saturday at the Lompoc District Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born Nov. 17, 1921, in El Dorado, he was graduated from Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College. He moved from Hutchinson in 1942. He was the supervisor of Federal Electric Corp., in Lompoc and a member of the Reno Lodge No. 140 A. F. & A. M.
Survivors: the widow, Caroline; stepsons: Bert and Douglas Stevenson; two step grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Elliott Chapel.
