Robert "Bob" Starnes Anderson, 83, passed away April 26, 2022 in Gainesville.

Robert was born November 7, 1938 in Gainesville. He graduated from Era High School and attended college at Gainesville Junior College and El Paso University College. Mr. Anderson married Olivia De "Dena" Andrews on November 30, 1965 in Fort Worth, TX. He spent the majority of his career with Texas Instruments, retiring after 41 years. He contributed two years of voluntary service at White Sands in New Mexico where he tested astronaut's pressure suits. He also owned his own Speed Shop where he built and raced high performance racecars. Mr. Anderson was also an educator, teaching college courses in Grand Prairie, Richardson, and Gainesville. He was a proud member of Era Church of Christ, carrying on the tradition started in 1910 when an Anderson first attended the church.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Beaumann and Fannie Lou (Wooten) Anderson.

Survivors include: wife, Dena Anderson of Gainesville; daughter, Lena Dianna Shelton and husband, Steve of Fort Worth; son, Robert A. "Robby" Anderson of Gainesville; step-son, Eddie Dwayne Ray of Houston; step-daughter, Dianna Lynn Ray of Houston; grandchildren: Ryan Shelton, Jennifer Kurosky, and Christopher Kurosky; and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Valley View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Mr. Anderson will lie in repose on Friday, April 29.

Memorial contributions may be made to Era Church of Christ or the Robert Anderson Family Endowment at North Central Texas College.
