Tulia, Texas—Kay Reinhardt Simpson, 69, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, May 2, 2022, in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home in Tulia.

Kay was born on September 11, 1952, in Tulia to Henry and Eunice Conaway Reinhardt. She graduated from Kress High School and attended Amarillo College and received her LVN. She worked at Northwest Texas Hospital and St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. She later received her RN and worked for Swisher Memorial Hospital in Tulia for a few years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tulia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister: Thelma Reinhardt Damron, and two brothers: Ronald Reinhardt and Gerald Reinhardt.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Gretchen Simpson of Avon, New York, her brother: Charles Reinhardt and wife Sharon of Montgomery, Texas, two grandchildren: Grant Simpson and Jameson Simpson, five nieces: Karri Damron of Lubbock, Pam Quintanilla and husband Victor of Dumas, Angie Reinhardt-Santiniello of Northampton, Mass., Carla Reinhardt of Tulia and Tippi Reinhardt of Spring, Texas and several great nieces and nephews.
