Lorelei May (Aman) Hart, 81, of Burchard passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. She was born April 20, 1941 in Hastings, Nebraska to Robert Dee and Vervie May (Millard) Aman. She and her siblings grew up in Ayr, Nebraska. Lorelei attended elementary School in Ayr and high School in Roseland, Nebraska. On her senior class sneak trip to the Ozarks, she met her future husband, Gene, who was also with his senior class on sneak trip.

On November 6, 1960, Lorelei and Gene were united in marriage. They made their home in Topeka, KS where Gene worked as an apprentice for the Atchison-Topeka-Santa Fe Railroad and police officer. Lorelei was a homemaker, and in 1961, they welcomed their first child, Natalie May, followed in 1964 by their only son, Gene Patrick "Pat" Hart II, and a third child, Marie Ellen in 1965.

In 1966, they moved their little family to DeWitt, NE to be closer to their extended families. In 1970, Heather Joy completed their growing family. Lorelie stayed at home with the children until they were all in school. She was exceptionally friendly and a good fit for opportunities offered in the field of human resources. She worked at BSDC, Beatrice, American Charter Co., Beatrice, American Tool Companies, DeWitt and Madonna Therapy in Beatrice.

Lorelei was an avid crafter and provided flower arrangements, covered photo albums, and centerpieces for many special occasions. She is remembered by her children and grandchildren as one who could 'sew up an outfit' overnight and was a remarkable seamstress who created prom dresses, wedding dresses, special occasion outfits and matching pajamas for many Christmases. Her business, SweetHart Ceramics, was a wonderful showcase of her passion for arts and crafts, and her thoughtfulness for others was evident as she gifted many pieces to friends and family over the years. Lorelei's homemade bread, cinnamon rolls and French toast are high on the list of favorite foods that she made for the family. If you left the table hungry, it was your own doing.

She was an active member of the Altar Society, and served on many committees at every parish she was a member of, including her home parish of Sacred Heart of Burchard, Nebraska. She and her husband taught CCD for many years at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wilber. Her faith has always been the most important part of her life. Lorelei was a wonderful example for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. From 2004 to 2006, she served as the President of the Lincoln Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, an organization of 22,000 women in the Dioceses, an experience she was especially proud of. In retirement, Lorelei and Gene made their home in Burchard, NE. She enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, attending the events of her grandchildren and making personalized greeting cards.

She is preceded in death by son, Gene Patrick Hart II, daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hart, sister, Karen Rozmiarek, brother, Stanley Aman, mother, Vervie May (Millard) Aman, father, Robert Dee Aman and parents-in-law, Ruben E. and Mary E. (Byrne) Hart.
