Eugenia Thomas English, 81, formerly of Milledgeville GA, passed away April 20, 2022, at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, GA.

Eugenia was born May 17, 1940, in Stuart Florida, to the late Reverend L.E. and Annie Willie Thomas. She grew up in Bennettsville SC, where her father was the minister of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church. After graduating high school in 1958, she attended the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing, where she earned her nursing degree in 1961. She married the late Thad Patrick (Pat) English in 1962, and they made their home in Milledgeville.

While working, Eugenia decided to further her education, and enrolled at The Medical College of Georgia, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1976. She devoted many years to caring for others and retired from Central State Hospital in 1996. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, spending time at the lake, and being "Nana" to her grandchildren. She was a devout Christian lady and was an active member of Hardwick Baptist Church. One of her most cherished memories was serving on a mission trip to Ghana, Africa.

Eugenia is survived by her son, Thad Patrick English, Jr. (Kathy) of Cumming, GA ; by her daughter, Anne English Lee (Carlo) of Perry GA, her grandchildren, Anna Parrish English and Kathryn Elizabeth English of Cumming, Mason Thomas Lee, Addison Anne Lee, and Claire Olivia Lee of Perry GA, and brother Lamar Everette Thomas, Jr. (& Judy) of Fountain Inn, SC.

Eugenia was a special lady and will be missed dearly. The family is planning a celebration of life service on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home from 12 Noon until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may make Memorial Contributions to the Lottie Moon Christmas Ministry, c/o Hardwick Baptist Church, 124 Thomas Street, SE, Hardwick, GA 31034.
