Charles "Charlie" Kenneth Burgess was born May 31, 1942 in Provo, Utah to Charles LaVern Burgess and Cora Durfey. He attended Brigham High School where he participated in football, wrestling, choir, band, debate, and drama club. After graduation he spent 2 years in the Navy serving his country (1960-1962). After returning, he then went on to serve a 2 year mission with The Church of Latter Day Saints in the Southern States mission area. Charles then started his first career as a Correctional Officer for the state of California for the next 10 years before getting into his second career as a Hearing Aid Specialist. This career spanned the next 30 years and ultimately brought him to Yuma Arizona in 2001, where he opened his own business called Burgess Hearing Aids that he later retired from (2008) and left to his step-son to run.

Charles is proceeded in death by his father Charles L. Burgess and his grandson Bradley. He is survived by his mother Cora Burgess, brother Cal Burgess, and sister Carolyn Powers. He has 5 children with his first wife of 21 years (Delva) and 3 step-children with his current wife of 26 years Barbara. He has a total of 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Charles will be remembered for his kind heart and the love that he shared with his friends and family. Charles had a strong passion for sharing his love for his Heavenly Father and enjoyed sharing the gospel to anyone who would listen. He loved to serve in his church as often as possible until he was no longer able to attend church in person.

We will be holding a celebration of life in both Utah and Florida with his family at later dates.
