Byrl W. Austin, 99, of Tremont, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

He was born June 6, 1923 in Pekin to Edward H. and Minnie Kraft Austin. He married Christine Schurter on February 5, 1949 , and she passed October 3, 2021.

Surviving are his three children, Kenneth (Marcia) Austin of Pekin, Susan (Dale) Lindenfelser of Tremont, and Karen Austin-Joslin (Sam Joslin) of Chillicothe.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Byrl graduated from Pekin High School in 1941 and served in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945 in England and France.

He retired from Corn Products after 40 years of service.

He loved to travel with Christine and visited all 50 states. He also enjoyed raising strawberries and it got to be a family affair for over 50 years.

Burial will be in Glendale Memorial gardens in Pekin.
