Donald Ray Alt, age 93 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at his home. He was born on February 15, 1929 in Landes, WV and was a son of the late Pinkney "Pink" Alt and Cleo (Cook) Alt.

In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Mallow) Alt in 2013.

Donnie is survived by one daughter, Roxanna Seltzer (Bruce) of Summerville, SC and one son, David Alt (Tammy) of Reeds Creek, WV; two grandchildren, Caleb Alt of Broadway, VA and Chelsea and husband Major Drew Shepler, who is currently stationed in Uzbekistan; one great granddaughter, Dahlia Grace Shepler; one sister, Venus Stump of Baltimore, MD and few nieces and one nephew.

Donnie was a graduate of Petersburg High School class of 1947 and served in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors in Baltimore, MD after 30 years and was a member of UAW Local Union 239 Auto Workers. Donnie was a member of Gordon Chapel United Methodist Church and Landes Ruritan Club.

Family will receive family and friends Saturday from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 1 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. David Webb officiating. Interment will be in Kline Cemetery.
