Gerald Oran Anderson, 82, of Elkton, SD died Friday, May 14, 2021 at Riverview Healthcare Center, Flandreau, SD.

"Jerry" was born December 11, 1938 in Elkton, SD to Harry and Elda (Bergman) Anderson. He attended school in Elkton through the 8th grade and went on to learn how to work hard at a very young age. Jerry and Sandra Christensen were married on July 22, 1960 at Pipestone, MN. To the union twin sons, David and Dale, and daughter Janet were born. He worked on the Bergman farm for his Uncle Clarence, then going to work for the Rock Island Railroad, Knutson Pipe Covering, and Sheesley Plumbing and Heating. After many years of working in several states, Jerry went to work for Courtesy Plumbing in Brookings and truly enjoyed his job and being home, retiring in 2002. Jerry built their home himself with help and advice from his father and older brothers and sister. He enjoyed making many outdoor decorations for holidays. Jerry enjoyed planes, trains, westerns and Ford pick-ups!

Jerry is survived by his wife Sandy, Elkton; two sons, David (Annette), Plymouth, UT; Dale (Jody), Elkton; daughter Janet (Dave) Myers, Elkton; six grandchildren, Danielle (Rob) Knuchel, Lindsey Anderson, Lisa Anderson, all of Utah; Cody (Nikki) Anderson, Elkton; Erica (Tom) Pearson, Hendricks, MN; and Lukas Myers, Denver, CO. Jerry was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Kabri, triplets Sidney, Tate and Hazen Knuchel, Utah; Mack Anderson, Elkton; Grady, Griffin and Granger Pearson, Hendricks, MN; and many Anderson, Christensen and Doyle nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elda; brothers, Earl, Harold, Donnie, Marlen and Duane; sister Evelyn Dexter and great-grandchild, baby Pearson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the United Parish of Elkton with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Elkton.
