Died, yesterday morning, Alexander Cheves, a native of Buchan, in Scotland aged 61 years; during 36 of which he resided in this city.
Nor great, nor wise, nor heralded in fame,
Yet no light praise perpetuates his name;
Ambition's fever never seized his breast.
To blast that humble peace his God has Blest-
He left the world unconscious of a crime;
Nor dare the proud his high eulogium can
For, more than great, he was an honest man!
Married in Long Cannes, Abbeville District on May 12, 1774.
