BENNINGTON - Marion Rebecca Phelps, 104, died Aug. 8, 2008, at home.

She was born Dec. 19, 1903, in Dublin, N.H., the daughter of Luke and Jennie (Desrosiers) Richardson.

She attended Peterborough High School in New Hampshire.

She married Fredrick Phelps Jr. on May 1, 1924, in Peterborough. He died in 1961.

Mrs. Phelps was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Dublin (N.H.) Community Church and later attended the Bennington First United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed crocheting and making kitchen towels for relatives and friends, as well as crafting quilts and hand-sewn potholders.

Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Schaefer; a sister, Jeannette Walker; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Allyn Phelps; a brother, Harland Richardson; and sisters, Anna Davis and Helen Scribner.

The graveside service will be held in Dublin, N.H., at the convenience of the family.
