TUSCALOOSA - Kenneth Boswell Wood, age 67, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died September 17, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in the chapel of the First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa Chapel, with Dolan Davis and Ken Bozeman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. before the service. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Memory Hill Gardens. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry S. Wood and Pearl Wood; and by two brothers, Jerry Cloudus and Dennis G. Boswell. He is survived by two brothers, Mark G. Boswell (Juanita) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Bobby G. Boswell (Phyllis) of Pennsylvania; his stepfather, Willie G. Boswell (Nelda) of Opelika, Ala.; and four nieces, Julia Feller of Germany; Katrina Boone (Chris) of Jenks, Okla.; Kaci Thompson (Trevor) of Fort Smith, Ark.; and Laura Boswell of Newton Hamilton, Pa. Ken taught science in the Tuscaloosa City Schools for 25 years and always remembered his fellow teachers and his students fondly. He had a remarkable memory for the names of his students and was quite dedicated to his chosen profession. Ken was an avid Alabama football fan and continued to enjoy listening to the games after he lost his eyesight and was no longer able to view them on television. For many years, Ken took personal care of his grandmother, whose memory he treasured. He lived with her and cared for her with loving attention until she passed away. Pallbearers will be Mike Montgomery, Tim Roberts, Ken Fair, Jim Kladifko, Berneal Ellison and Tim White.
