The Reverend Dr. Milton L. Boyle Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 93, in Springvale, Maine. He was formerly of North Berwick, ME & Westwood and Melrose, MA.

Milton was married for 63 years to the love of his life, Juel Fonda Boyle, who predeceased him in 2013. He was one of seven children born to Dr. Milton L. Boyle & Etta (Hill) Boyle. He is survived by his sisters Mildred Perkins of Lynnfield, MA., Irene Gerwick of Hudson, MA, and by his brothers Rev. Kenneth Boyle of Hopkinton, NH and Dr. Lawrence Boyle of Biddeford ME. He was predeceased by his sister Loretta (Boyle) Crawford and his brother William C. H. Boyle.

He is also survived by his daughter Diana Jane Lord and her husband William Lord and by his son Milton L. Boyle, III and his wife Tracy (Manners) Boyle. Rev. Boyle had five grandchildren, Jared Boyle Lord, Braden Chase Lord, Rebecca Juel Boyle & Kelly Jane Brown. His dear granddaughter Ande Manners Boyle predeceased him in 1989. He was also the great grandfather of Adalyn Rose Lord, Sawyer Grace Lord and Jane Evelyn Boyle. All his grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss sharing with him his stash of chocolate and ice cream treats! He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jere Fonda of Omaha NE.

Milton Boyle also leaves many special nieces and nephews who loved and respected him.

Dr. Boyle graduated from Harvard University in 1950. He continued his education receiving a Master's Degree in Theology from Andover Newton Theological School, and a Doctorate in Old Testament Studies from Boston University. He was assistant to the president of Curry College in Milton, MA. and later a Professor of Humanities at Bridgewater State University. He also served long pastorates in Massachusetts at The White Street Baptist Church in East Boston and at Beth Eden Baptist Church in Waltham. During their retirement years Milton and Juel were devoted members of The First Baptist Church of Springvale, Maine.

An interment service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland, MA. A memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church of Springvale, Maine, 429 Main Street, at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The First Baptist Church of Springvale, 429 Main Street, PO Box 277, Springvale, ME 04083.

Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
