James Ray Acker "Jim" was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on November 4, 1935 to Albert Sidney Acker and Wilma Young Acker. His mother passed at a young age and his father later remarried to Lilian Sensabaugh Acker. Jim met the love of his life, Virginia Lee Boley, and they were married in 1954. Jim worked for the Southwestern Bell Phone Company for 40 years as a public relations manager. His greatest passion was golf. He spent many hours on the golf course. He also enjoyed quail and dove hunting, fishing and canoe racing. He loved to be outdoors. James Acker was preceded in death by his parents.
