Kenneth joined the U.S. Army in 1952, attaining the rank of sergeant, and was honorably discharged in 1954. While serving in the Army, he married his one and only, Bobbie Jo (Hoyle) DeHart on February 11, 1954. He referred to his dear wife as his "bride" throughout their nearly 68 years of marriage. The young couple soon moved to Jacksonville, FL to build their life and family together.
In Jacksonville, Kenneth found his life's work, as an officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Department. His 32-year career was mostly as an Evidence Technician, where his work processing crime scenes earned him citywide "Officer of the Year" twice.
Kenneth had a love for fishing, which he shared often with family and friends. He was also an avid gardener, as he preferred being outside in God's creation. He was always ready to help a friend or neighbor.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by a brother, Harold.
