Mr. I. S. Cook
Mr. I. S. Cook, a venerable and highly respected citizen of the Steep Hollow community, died suddenly at his home Friday night about 9 o'clock. Mr. Cook was of robust physique and ate heartily at supper, appearing to be in the best of health and spirits and so continued until he retired, shortly after which, and with hardly a moments warning he died. Mr. Cook has been a citizen of Brazos county more than thirty years and leaves a wife and three children, all of whom reside in this county, Mr. I.M. Cook, Mrs. Jim Weedon and Miss Sallie Cook. Mr. Cook was an active member of the Baptist church and always took a marked interest in religious matters. He was a familiar figure on the streets of Bryan, and will be deeply missed here, as among the people of his own neighborhood. The Eagle joins with his many friends in all parts of the county and elsewhere, in tendering sincere sympathy to the bereaved family, upon whom the mantle of sorrow has fallen swifter than twilight shadows deepen into night.
One of the original settlers of Steep Hollow, There was one more son, William Wallace Cook that married Sibby Bullock, daughter of Samuel C. Bullock, and moved away from the area.
