Ellen Elizabeth Titterington was Born in Lancashire, England in 1785, to John Titterington and Rebecca Helliwell.
She was reported to be titled "Lady Titterington" Her family were 'Silk Manufactures'. She married John Thomas in 1805 in Lancashire, England. They had seven children, five were born in England. Their last two Eli and Hannah were born in Ross Co., Ohio. Their second son William Thomas, is buried in Crouse Chapel Cemetery also.

Back in 1951 Ben Gallagher made a brief history of the Thomas family. A lot of his information was gathered at the Thomas family reunions starting back in the early 1920's. Monroe Slavin gave a great deal of information on the early history; he was reported to have a great memory.

Per Frank & Audrey Whitaker-Cluster:

In August of 1977 "Frank and Audrey (Whitaker)Cluster" made a trip to Ohio to see if they could find anything on the older members of the family. They could not find any living relatives of any of the missing links. However They did find some of the old graves in the Crouse Chapel Cemetery.

John & Ellen Info:

John Thomas was born in Lancashire England in 1788 and died in Ross county Ohio 19 Sept 1863; he married Ellen Elizabeth Titterington in Lancashire England in 1805. She was born in Lancashire England in 1785, where she was reported to be titled "Lady Titterington", her brother was a silk manufacturer in England. His name was Eli Titterington. Ellen is buried in the Crouse Cemetery a few miles north of Chillicothe, Ross, Ohio. Frank & Audrey visited her grave in August 1977. Her headstone was in good shape, it reads: Ellen wife of John Thomas died 18 Sept 1823 38 years. There is also another stone for William Thomas son of John and Ellen Thomas he died 26 Mar 1826 at age 17 years. They did not find a stone for John Thomas. John & Ellen were parents of seven children, five were born in England and the two youngest were born in Ohio.

The Whitaker family connection is through John and Ellen Thomas' youngest daughter, Hannah Thomas, who was born on 27 Jan 1822 in Ross County Ohio.
Hannah Thomas married Patrick Plunkett and their daughter Ida Mae Plunkett married Sterling Price Cunningham, Ida & Sterling's oldest daughter is Kittie May Cunningham, She married Charles Elmer Whitaker on October 28, 1914.

Charles Elmer Whitaker was the oldest son of Chandler Tuttle Whitaker and Florence Alvira Bradshaw.
