BARNESVILLE- Harry D. Toohey, 76, of Barnesville, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday at Guernsey Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 23, 1897, in Baileys Mill, the son of John and Anna Vansickle Toohey.
Mr. Toohey was a retired coal miner and was a member of the Barnesville First Methodist Church, Barnesville Eagles and was a 50-year member of the Barnesville Moose. His first wife, Florence died in 1929. A son, John died in 1971.
Surviving is his widow, Kathryn Myers Toohey; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Peterson of Perry and Mrs. Glenda Ennis of Wheeling, W. Va.; five sons, Harry Toohey of Coeburn, Va., William Toohey of Santa Anna, Cal., Dennis and Paul Toohey both of Barnesville, and Rodney Toohey of the home; a sister, Mrs. Winnie Helling of Elwood City Pa.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Servies will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kelly Kemp Funeral Home in Bethesda, with Rev. Budd Sprague officiating. Burial will be in Holy Memorial Cemetery at Pleasant Grove. Moose services will be held at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today.
