Elmer "Leon" Roberson, age 73, a lifelong Atoka County, OK resident, was born on Monday, February 7, 1949, to Elmer and Ruth Delene (Sheffield) Roberson, at Lane, OK. Leon passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his home in Atoka, OK with his loved ones. He attended Lane Elementary School and graduated from Atoka High School in 1967. He then went on to attend college at Wilburton and Tahlequah.
Leon sold parts for Bert Smith Construction Equipment, was a truck driver, owned and operated his own body shop, sold auto parts, was really involved in the pet industry, and was a carpenter.
He married Evelyn Cannon on Saturday, September 20th, 1969 at Pine Springs Community, Atoka County, Oklahoma. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before his passing. Leon was baptized into the baptist faith. He loved going to his brother Bill's church, Full Gospel Church.
Leon and his friend Jeff Goff loved to rebuild classic cars, "drive fast" in his car and motorcycle. Leon liked to work on his tractor and loved to "Hooraw and Joke" with people. He was a fix it all and could fix it if it could be fixed.
Leon had a spark in him, you had to have known him to understand it. His spirit and charisma was amazing, he was someone people wanted to be around. He could allure anyone with his witty humor. The body runs on electricity, it requires it to move. Leon had so much in his soul it moved everyone around him. He loved people and people loved him. He was a devoted husband, father, and papa. His family was his pride and joy. Young men looked up to him, he inspired a generation.
Leon was the jack of all trades and what he could do with his hands alone was remarkable. But it was his enthusiastic attitude, magnetism, contagious energy, and love that made him extraordinary. He could take any old scrap piece of metal and transform it into the most beautiful hot rod you have ever seen. He could build anything. Do anything. He was a faithful member of church and adhered to his faith. Leon could drive anywhere, travel anywhere, he made many journeys in his life, and always a story to tell, you can only imagine the story he will have to tell about his journey into eternity.

Leon is survived by his wife, Evelyn Cannon Roberson of the home in Atoka, OK; children, Tracey Marie Roberson of Atoka, OK, Carla Willis of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Ty Shipley of Mustang, OK, Morgan Roberson of Atoka, OK, Wes Shipley of El Reno, OK, Elizabeth Brooks of Atoka, OK, Endie Anna Bacon of Atoka, OK; great grandchildren, Presleigh Herring, Reid Lambert; brothers, Bill Roberson of Atoka, OK, Charles Roberson and wife Carolyn of Atoka, OK, Zeb Roberson and wife Pat of Willington, TX, S.L.
