Anderson Martin was born on May 18, 1852, in Fort Branch, Indiana, to John and Sena Marvel Martin. He married Martha Jane Reel and they had eight children together. After her death he married Martha Alice Brown and they had five children together. He moved to Bridgeport, Oklahoma in 1902. He died on December 9, 1927, in Hinton, Oklahoma, at the age of 75.
