Death of Charles C Bicknell At Hanford yesterday Charles C Bicknell died at the home of Mr and Mrs W C Dale Deceased via a native of Tennessee and was aged about 78 years He was a Mexican war veteran and a pioneer Californian He came to this State in 1849 and engaged in mining for a number of years and about twenty years ago moved to Salida this county and later to Modesto About six years ago he moved to Hanford with Mr and Mrs Dale the lady being his sister He was generally known as "Uncle Charley" Bicknell and was a man of kindly disposition He was well known about Modesto and ho was a very familiar figure while a resident of this city Many will remember very kindly the genial old gentleman The death took place at the home of Mr and Mrs Dale and the funeral will take place from the undertaking parlors of T Christianson tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock p m The interment will take place in the Modesto cemetery by the Bide of the late Judge Bicknell his brother who died several years ago The religious services will be conducted by Rev R 8 Boyne pastor of the M E Church South
