London, Ky., August 30 (A. P.).-
"State Senator Ernest A. Pollard, Assistant Sales Manager.of the Kentucky Rock Asphalt Company and for years prominent in Republican politics In Eastern Kentucky. died at his home 'here last night. Senator Pollard had been in ill health for several years, being afflicted with heart disease. He was 53 yeara old.
During the 1928 session of the General Assembly, Senator Pollard was of the staunchest supporters of Governor Flem D. Sampson's legislators program.
He was Mayor of London from 1913 until 1917, and from 1920 to 1924. He served as a member of the State racing committee reviving his appointment from Governor Edwin P. Morrow.
He was selected to the Senate for a term of four years in November 1927. While he made his home in London for many years, Senator Pollard Crab Orchard, Ky., April 23,1875. He moved to London when young and has made it his home ever since.
