Russell W. Letts, 99, of Coldwater, died May 27, 2011, at Community Health Center of Branch County.
Russell was born May 3, 1912, in Steuben County, Ind., to Clyde J. and Maude (Waller) Letts.
On May 5, 1930, he married Opal L. Barlow in Marshall.
Russell was a lifelong resident of Branch County. He drove truck for Commercial Carriers for five years, then worked for LA Darling until it closed. He then was engaged in farming until he retired. During his working years, he also found time to build five new homes. Russell enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Opal; a son, George (Catherine) Letts of Sturgis; a daughter, Linda (Gerald) Brauer of Coldwater; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by Gillespie Funeral Home in Coldwater.
